SHARKS

SHARKS is an shell script (.sh) that will install a fully-featured digital self improvement (tiling-window-manager-based) system on any Arch or Artix Linux
-based system, without the need of any routine tasks like manual processes or configurations.

Installation

After a fresh installation of Arch Linux or Artix Linux (guide on how to install artix), run the following:
curl -LO marlonivo.xyz/sharks.sh
sh sharks.sh
The SHARKS script, will then guide you through the installation process on a new user of your system (not the one you made in the arch/artix installation process). It will take around 10 minutes to install everything. Note that the SHARKS scripts will not partition any drives or wipe anything.

Programms

Here are the main (distraction free) programms coming within SHARKS. Note that this programms are coming preconfigured from my dotfiles (configuration files):
● dwm – the graphical environment
● st – the terminal
● dwmblocks – the statusbar
● zsh – the shell
● firefox with unifox.js – the browser
● lf – the file manager
● htop – the system monitor
● mpv – the video player
● nsxiv – the image viewer

Philosophy

So why bordering installing SHARKS? First of all because of the security, all ulities are open source, self hostable and easy to configure. Secondly because of the digital detox aspect, porn, ads, gafam are blocked completly (besides youtube which is the only google-hosted-service i use). The unifox.js makes firefox as minimalistic as possible without braking modern possibilites, the whole system is lightweight and super fast to navigate trough due to the universal keybindings that every utilitie shares. Sure, gathering the intuition for the keybindings will take some time, but it's worth the effort because you not only learning sharks but also Linux as a whole with these.

Learning the system:
1. The system is not what an average windows enjoyer would be familiar with, but i provided enough helpful documentary, which can be viewed with mod + k (another unified shortcut for showing the shortcutsmenu for the current utitlite) and has anything you need to know about SHARKS.
2. In case the document somehow isn't willing to open, you can also view the document here: https://sharks.marlonivo.xyz
3. You will not only learn how to use an system effectively but also much about Linux Philosophy
